ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
-Design, install, commission and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
-Supervise electrical installations, modifications and upgrades.
-Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical equipment.
-Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime.
-Maintain motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, distribution boards and control panels.
-Work with electrical protection, motor control and power-distribution systems.
-Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
-Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and plant equipment.
-Work closely with mechanical, automation and production teams.
-Conduct electrical inspections, testing and performance assessments.
-Prepare technical reports, maintenance records and equipment documentation.
-Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures.
-Provide technical guidance and training to technicians.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications & Experience
-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent recognized qualification.
-Relevant industrial electrical engineering experience.
-Experience in industrial electrical installations, maintenance and commissioning.
-Knowledge of motors, drives, switchgear, transformers and industrial control systems.
-Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and automation systems will be an advantage.
-Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
-Ability to interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Experience in mining, manufacturing, mineral processing or heavy industry is an advantage.
