SOS Children's Villages Zimbabwe is currently seeking applications for the position of Educator – Kindergarten, with two vacancies available. The positions are based in Bulawayo, and the successful candidates will report to the School Head.
POSITION: Educator – Kindergarten (2 Posts)
MISSION OF THE POSITION: The role of the Educator – Kindergarten is to provide supervision and guidance to ensure the delivery of quality education to learners from ECD A to the entry of grade 1.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to all students in the class. -Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching media to guide and facilitate the teaching-learning processes. -Assess learner performance and progress by marking written exercises and tests. -Provide remedial and extension work to learners with different learning styles and levels. -Maintain the class inventory of furniture, textbooks, and other teaching-learning materials. -Facilitate class discussions, activities, and evaluate the efficiency of teaching/learning processes. -Initiate and develop a classroom disaster risk management plan. -Liaise and interact with parents/guardians on issues concerning learners. -Act as the chief counsellor for learners by addressing their special needs. -Keep and update departmental files containing timetables, staff details, enrollment statistics, policies, and other relevant documents. -Take care of the welfare of learners in terms of health and safety. -Administer the enrollment of learners in liaison with School Principal, Vice Principal, and TIC.
Qualifications and Experience
-5 'O' Levels, including Maths and English. -Certificate/Diploma in ECD with 5 years' experience. -Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
