Tsungirirai Welfare Organisation is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Economic Strengthening & Youth Empowerment Officer. The position is based at Chegutu Project Offices.
-Work with community-based facilitators to deliver economic strengthening interventions for OVC caregivers, covering ISALs, SPM, income-generating activities, financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and market linkages.
-Support collaboration with government ministries, local businesses, and key stakeholders to provide youth with entrepreneurship and wage employment pathways.
-Conduct youth-led labor market assessments and participatory value chain analysis to identify opportunities for expanding labor opportunities for youth and OVC caregivers within local market systems.
-Implement youth Work Readiness Training Programs.
-Lead the implementation of market-specific vocational skills training in collaboration with local Vocational Skills Training Centres and tradesmen.
-Coordinate work-focused Social Asset Building training to equip youth, especially Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), with skills to identify, avoid, and report gender-based violence in the workplace.
-Facilitate linkages between small youth-owned enterprises and established private enterprises, government institutions, and technical support organizations for business development support, mentorship, and start-up cost assistance.
-Organize or support youth participation in marketing events, including district agricultural shows and local exhibitions, leveraging social media for broader market reach.
Ad
-Degree in economics, agriculture, social sciences, international development, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
-Minimum of six (6) years of experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring household economic strengthening and youth economic empowerment activities, with PEPFAR USAID OVC programming experience as an added advantage.
-Demonstrated experience in linking youth to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
-Experience in leveraging private sector partnerships and resources for business opportunities, mentorship, skills training, and market access.
-Strong experience in providing technical assistance and mentorship.
-Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including government representatives, local community organizations, donors, and other partners.
-Success in providing training, mentorship, and supervision of community volunteers and caregivers.
