The Role
We are currently looking for a DTP Operator to join our Production team at College Press. In this role you ensure that all our titles are typeset with ideal artworks & Photographs, designed to expected standards timely and safely stored for any future use.

The Role:
Typeset all assigned work within the expected time frames / timelines given.
Ensure that typeset work is of high quality that maintains/improves the image of the company.
Ensure designs of book covers and promotional material portray the corporate image of College Press and its values.
Design covers and promotional material that are competitive and attractive for our market needs.
Source and coordinate the production of quality and market-oriented artworks.
Negotiate with artists optimum pricing and quick turnaround.
Create a data bank of illustrations, photographs, diagrams and any necessary scans.
Ensure copyright permissions are sourced and or granted timeously.
Typeset, design and coordinate the production of books and artworks that portray the House style and standards for the Organisation.
Requirements:
A completed Degree in Design /Publishing / Art
1 year minimum experience in a similar position
Strong communication skills with excellent people skills to navigate a diverse range of stakeholders.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
Highly organised and self-motivated, with strong self-management skills
Possess a drive for continuous improvement initiatives.
Creative and open to new ways of doing things.
