Mwenezi Development Training Centre (MDTC) is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Driver (Chiredzi x1) for a contractual period of twelve months. Reporting to the District Coordinator, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting program implementation through reliable transportation services.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Transportation Services:
-Transporting staff and stakeholders during the program implementation period for various activities such as registrations, project monitoring, market visits, and monitoring the situation of crops and livestock, as well as coordinating with stakeholders.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
-Ensuring the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in sound condition.
-Conducting daily vehicle checks to ensure its proper functioning.
-Safekeeping of all auxiliary equipment, including spare tires, tool kit, and reflective warning triangle.
3. Routine Vehicle Checks:
-Performing routine vehicle checks every morning and promptly informing the District Coordinator of any anticipated vehicle repairs or service requirements.
4. Incident Reporting:
-Reporting any incidents to the District Coordinator within 24 hours of their occurrence.
5. Data Protection and Cross-Cutting Issues:
-Ensuring data protection for all program documents.
-Protecting cross-cutting issues at all stages of program implementation.
6. Vehicle Inspection Reports:
-Developing vehicle inspection reports weekly and providing recommendations on any technical faults.
-Completed secondary level education with at least three (3) O level passes.
-Possession of a clean class 4 driver’s license.
-Valid defensive driver’s license.
-Mature individual, aged 30 years and above.
-Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience working in an NGO environment.
