job Description

The primary objective of the District Strategic Information Officer is to ensure effective collection, analysis, and reporting of program data within the assigned district. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with the district program team to facilitate the implementation of activities for efficient program management and performance reporting. The position reports to the respective Strategic Information Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of all registers and submission of reports.
-Support the collection and reporting of clinical processes and outcomes, including MER data, on program-specific indicators.
-Conduct routine data quality audits at health facilities within the district, collaborating with relevant teams.
-Clean, verify, and validate data in electronic systems, correcting inconsistencies before syncing to the server.
-Provide technical support to healthcare workers and enhance the use of Electronic Systems for monitoring HIV and TB programs.
-Collaborate with provincial and district teams to compile and consolidate reports on program activities.
-Conduct routine analyses and visualization of program data in Power BI, including cascades across core indicators.
-Coordinate data-related Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects in supported facilities.
-Track performance against annual targets, review district and facility-level performance, and develop improvement plans.
-Provide feedback to district health authorities on evidence collected and involve them in strategy formulation.
-Lead the analysis and writing of district-level programmatic performance reports and ensure timely submission.
-Attend district coordination and review meetings, facilitating the interpretation and use of M&E data.
-Ensure proper maintenance and management of mobile devices at designated facilities.
-Collaborate with MoHCC, Zim-TTECH consortium partners, and other implementing partners to track and report outcomes of various interventions.

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Mathematics, Public Health, Health Promotion, or a related field.
-Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing, analyzing, and reporting health-related program data, including working with DHIS2 data.
-Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot-tables, formatting, statistical functions, and formulas.
-Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
-Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including data cleaning, verification, and trend analyses.
-Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., STATA, SAS, or SPSS) is an added advantage.
-Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and presentation skills with fluency in English.
-Demonstrable ability to work independently and collaboratively.
-Experience working with MoHCC or health-related implementing partners and a strong understanding of the Zimbabwe healthcare system structures.
