QUALITY ASSURANCE AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
Deputy Director – Professional Development (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

-Developing, implementing and managing comprehensive training programmes that supports the University’s strategic plan, mission, and goals
-Developing and monitoring annual training budgets
-Developing annual training calendars
-Working collaboratively with academic and administrative departments on training needs analysis
-Coordinating physical and online management development programmes
-Ensuring comprehensive orientation and induction of new staff members
-Ensuring continuous professional development of staff members in the university
-Providing guidance to faculties and departments on training and development issues
-Collaborate with external stakeholders on staff development programmes
-Playing an advisoral role to the top management on employee professional development issues
-Performing any other duties related to employee professional development as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director – Quality Assurance and Professional Development.

Qualifications and Experience

-An earned Doctoral degree preferably in Education
-A professional qualification in teaching or training a pre-requisite
-Have experience in pedagogical teaching and learning
-At least two (2) years managerial experience in an institution of higher learning environment (e.g. Chairperson of a department)
-Experience in research (consonant with the level of appointment).
-Experience in developing and implementing training programmes.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-Strong presentation, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
-Experience in managing a team of professionals.
