Position Overview:
As a Costing and Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the mechanical costs associated with our mining and construction operations. Your work will focus on risk assessments, and supporting safe mine planning and operations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers, environmental specialists, and construction personnel, to ensure that mining activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
-Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for construction and engineering projects.
-Analyze project specifications and requirements to determine cost components.
-Conduct cost analyses and prepare cost reports to track project expenditures.
-Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective solutions.
-Monitor and adjust cost estimates based on project changes and market conditions.
-Design and Installation: Organize, install, and operate mechanical equipment and systems at the mine site.
-Technical Documentation: Prepare, check, and approve calculations, documents, drawings, cost estimates, and tests in compliance with quality assurance policies.
-Supervision: Supervise contractors, negotiate changes, control quality, measure work done, approve and accept works.
-Project Management: Lead or work on a team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field. A -Master’s degree or additional certifications in civil, mechanical or mining engineering is highly desirable.
-Minimum 4 years of experience in Civil /mechanical engineering , with a strong focus on mining applications.
