Childline Zimbabwe is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join their team as a Communications Officer. As a Private Voluntary Organisation registered under the laws of Zimbabwe, Childline Zimbabwe is dedicated to child protection, advocating for and safeguarding children's rights. The organization achieves this through the provision of secure, confidential, and child-friendly reporting mechanisms, including a free 24-hour counseling service. The position reports to the Programmes Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Write, edit, and distribute various content such as publications, press releases, website material, annual reports, speeches, and marketing collateral to effectively communicate the organization's activities and services.
-Document best practices models and contribute to the creation of newsletters and storybooks.
-Develop and implement impactful communication activities for both internal and external audiences.
-Ensure consistency in voice, branding, messaging, and posting frequency across digital channels.
-Handle media inquiries, craft compelling news releases, and work towards securing positive press coverage.
-Lead the development and execution of well-planned and effective campaigns.
-Establish and maintain networking relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
-Coordinate fundraising and networking events.
-Collaborate with management to devise and implement a communication strategy tailored to the target audience.
-Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and serve as a spokesperson for the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field.
-Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a communications role.
-Possession of a Class 4 driver’s license with 2 years of continuous driving experience.
-Experience in handling complex communications campaigns.
-Proficiency in multi-channel communications.
-Experience in producing a variety of marketing materials.
-Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
