Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent should have knowledge of the basic laboratory experience, including safety regulations and aseptic technics. Should have knowledge of the instruments used in plant sciences laboratories including plant biotechnology, plant pathology, weed sciences, plant physiology, agronomy, entomology and plant breeding laboratories. Strong application of modern technologies in plant sciences research. Evidence of team leadership will be an added advantage. Evidence of resource mobilization and procurement experience will be also an added advantage. He or she will be expected to work as a team member in all departmental and faculty activities. Should be prepared to work with students and researchers in the department. Oversees management and inventory of all departmental infrastructures including laboratory equipment, vehicles, office and teaching facilities. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chairperson of the Department.

Qualifications and Experience
Must have at least a Master’s degree in Applied Biological Sciences or related fields. Must have at least 5 years post work experience in a University science laboratory or in industry.
