Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and ethically grounded Chartered or Company Secretary to join our governance team. This role is crucial in ensuring our compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, supporting board efficiency, and championing transparent governance frameworks.
NB: Preference will be given to a qualified female candidate in line with our commitment to gender equity and board diversity.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Provide strategic legal and governance advice to the Board and Executive Leadership
•Prepare and maintain statutory records, meeting minutes, and compliance filings
•Ensure adherence to international corporate governance codes and regulatory obligations
•Support board meetings, AGMs, and committee engagements
•Lead the development of governance frameworks and board policies
•Foster ethical practices and confidentiality across the organization

Qualifications and Experience

•A professionally qualified Chartered Secretary, LLB, Accounting, Finance, Corporate governance or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, ICAZ, ICSA/CGI (CIS), SAICA)
•Having master’s Degree such as MBA, MBL, Strategic management will be an added advantage
•Minimum of 4-7 years' experience in a senior company secretarial, governance, or legal advisory role
•Prior experience working with boards, CEOs, and regulatory bodies
•Strong knowledge of corporate governance, company law, and compliance procedures
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
•Demonstrated integrity, diplomacy, and professionalism

Desirable Attributes
•Female professionals are strongly encouraged to apply
•Experience in global or cross-jurisdictional governance frameworks
•Knowledge of ESG, sustainability governance, and ethics programs
•Prior involvement with think tanks, institutes, or non-profits is a plus
