Job Description
A leading automotive or haulage company is urgently seeking an experienced Buyer / Stores Controller to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing, receiving, storing and controlling stock, spare parts, equipment and other materials required for smooth company operations.

Candidates with experience in the automotive industry will be highly relevant for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Source and purchase automotive parts, materials, tools and other required supplies.
-Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers.
-Negotiate prices, delivery terms and payment arrangements with suppliers.
-Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
-Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming goods.
-Maintain proper stores and inventory records.
-Issue stock and spare parts to authorised departments.
-Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with records.
-Monitor stock movements and identify shortages, excesses or discrepancies.
-Maintain an organised and secure stores environment.
-Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
-Ensure purchases comply with company procedures and approved budgets.
-Prepare purchasing and inventory reports when required.
-Support workshop and operational teams by ensuring required parts and materials are available on time.

Qualifications and Experience

-Relevant qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
-Previous experience as a Buyer, Stores Controller, Stores Officer or similar role.
-Experience in the automotive industry is a must.
-Knowledge of automotive spare parts and workshop requirements will be an advantage.
-Good inventory and stock-control skills.
-Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
-Good computer and record-keeping skills.
-Excellent organisational and communication skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
