ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
This position is based in Harare, Zimbabwe, and reports to the Risk and Compliance Officer
1. Support compiling of the risk register and data collection thereof.
2. Perform risk analysis and make recommendations.
3. Develop CO risk report summarising risk metrics, key oversight, and risk issues.
4. Consolidate the CO oversight mission plan and planned activities/priorities by the CO.
5. Perform risk assessments on both internal and external stakeholders.
6. Manage oversight feedback and recommendations through working in collaboration with CP Management unit, Activity leads and FOs in coordinating action plan for implementation and undertaking monthly follow up on recommendations implementation to provide monthly input for management reports on country status.
7. Support for planning and implementation of Fraud Risk Assessments.
8. Support for CO Governance and Compliance activities
-Education: A first University Degree in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research and Statistics, Social Sciences, Risk Management or equivalent.
-Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in risk management, audit, insurance or related fields.
-Experience in the development sector is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
-Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, governance and risk management.
-Ability to build partnerships, coordinate, and build consensus with various internal and external stakeholders across functions.
-Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and develop risk reports.
-Ability to work and plan at both operational and strategic levels.
-Ability to work under pressure and adapt to an evolving and complex humanitarian context.
-Excellent communication skills both written and oral with an ability to express and summarize ideas orally and in writing.
-Ability to lead workshops, meetings, and to present outcomes on behalf of a group of stakeholders.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Language: General Service (Headquarters): Fluency (level C) in English language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official language may be required depending on the location of the post or area of responsibility.
General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
