Role Summary
Hivos is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The manager will play a pivotal role in driving Hivos’ fundraising efforts, cultivating donor relationships, and identifying strategic opportunities to further our mission.

We are looking for a motivated, professional, and organized individual with a strong passion for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, initiative, and a proven ability to secure funding from diverse sources.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Represent Hivos’ mission, vision, and programs effectively to potential donors and stakeholders.
-Lead proactive donor engagement efforts across the African continent.
-Significantly contribute to Hivos’ financial targets through successful business development strategies.
-Coordinate and guide proposal and consortium development teams.
-Author and review grant proposals, concept notes, and other key fundraising documents.
-Organize fundraising events in collaboration with program and communication teams.
-Foster and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring satisfaction and ongoing engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Master’s degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience: At least six years of experience in business development, fundraising, or marketing, with a proven track record in securing funding and writing successful grant proposals.

Skills:
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
-Strong leadership and relationship-building abilities.
-Expertise in business development processes and donor engagement strategies.
-Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
-Proficiency in donor management systems and public speaking.
-A proactive, goal-oriented approach to engaging donors and stakeholders.
