The Brand Manager: Corporate Social Investment will play a crucial role to support the development, and drive implementation of the corporate social investment strategy across all business corridors. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the successful candidate will have a global perspective, ensuring our initiatives align with local needs while adhering to legislative requirements in various corridors. This role is open to applicants from Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Support development and refinement of the Global CSI Strategy

Develop plans that align with the corporate social investment legislation in each corridor and ensure alignment to global CSI strategy and overall business objectives
Conduct thorough assessments of potential risks and challenges associated with CSI programs and develop plans to mitigate risks and enhance the resilience of CSI initiatives
Continuously evaluate and refine the plans to maximise the effectiveness of initiatives
Design and implement CSI programs that have a measurable and positive impact on communities and align with the company's mission
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to gather support and commitment to CSI projects
Integrate sustainability principles into CSI programs to ensure long-term positive contributions to society
Explore innovative approaches to corporate social investment that align with emerging global trends
Programme Planning and Execution

Research and develop guidelines and standards to maintain a unified approach to CSI initiatives globally
Ensure consistency in program planning and execution across all business corridors
Encourage the exploration of new approaches and technologies to enhance program effectiveness
Implement cost-effective CSI projects while maintaining program quality
Optimise the allocation of resources, both financial and human, to maximise the impact of CSI programs
Implement agile project management methodologies to respond to changing circumstances
Develop and adhere to project timelines to ensure the timely execution of CSI initiatives
Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to identify areas for enhancement and optimisation
Establish feedback loops for reporting and continuous improvement in program design and execution
Stakeholder Engagement

Communicate the value of CSI initiatives internally, ensuring alignment with the Global CSI strategy
Collaborate with internal department leaders to foster a sense of shared responsibility and commitment among employees
Implement initiatives to engage employees in CSI activities, fostering a sense of purpose and pride
Provide opportunities for employees to contribute their skills and expertise to CSI programs
Establish and nurture strong relationships with external stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and community leaders to collaborate on shared goals and amplify the impact of CSI initiatives
Leverage CSI activities to enhance the Mukuru’s brand reputation
Communicate the positive impact of programs to external stakeholders through various channels
Maintain transparent and open communication channels to address concerns and build trust
Develop action plans for effective stakeholder communication during crisis situations
Monitoring and Evaluation

Establish and regularly review KPIs to measure the success and impact of CSI initiatives
Ensure KPIs align with Global CSI objectives and strategic intentions
Collaborate with business intelligence team to implement data collection and analysis systems to support evidence-based decision-making
Conduct thorough impact assessments to understand the tangible and intangible effects of CSI initiatives and communicate finding to both internal and external stakeholders
Encourage the use of evaluation results to inform future program design and implementation
Develop comprehensive reports on the outcomes of CSI initiatives for internal and external audiences
Ensure transparency in reporting to build trust and accountability with stakeholders
Manage own professional and self-development

Manage own time
Adhere to performance management process and ensure timeous reviews with line manager
Attend all required training courses
Maintain and continuously improve on knowledge of relevant legislation that impact own work
Manage own professional and self-development
Advise and share knowledge with the team to ensure an enhanced and effectively implement CSI initiatives across all corridors

Qualifications and Experience

Key Requirements:

Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Development, Business Sustainability, Social Sciences or related discipline
5 Years’ Proven experience in corporate social investment, community development, or related fields (Essential)
5 Years’ Experience working in a multi-national, across African, and EU organisation
5 Years’ Project Management Experience
Strong understanding of legislative requirements for CSI across different countries
Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team
Ability to execute CSI programs that align seamlessly with the overall business objectives and values of the company
Ability to maintain consistency in program planning and execution across diverse business corridors
Ability to efficiently allocate and manage resources, to maximise the impact of CSI programs
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, NGOs, government agencies, and community leaders
Key Competencies:
