Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the well-being of students, providing support, guidance and advice. Acting in loco parents, meaning taking on a parental role during the school year.
- Helping learners from different backgrounds and cultures to settle into the school and assist with the orientation of new students and their families.
- Identify and respond to bullying.
- Adhering and ensuring compliance with the school’s Child Safeguarding policy at all times.
- Reporting actual or any potential risks to the safety or welfare of learners in the boarding facility to the school management.
- Helping with supervision of learners at meals, bedtime and waking up.
- Responsible for maintaining order and ensuring the safety of students, addressing disciplinary issues and implementing security measures.
- Providing academic support and having an oversight of academic tasks, such as study periods, and ensure students are working quietly during those times.
- Overseeing the running of the boarding house, ensuring it is a safe, clean and comfortable environment for students. This includes managing schedules, coordinating activities, and addressing logistical needs.

Skills & Abilities:
- A minimum of five (5) Ordinary level subjects including English Language
- First aid/red cross certificate is an added advantage
- Conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with emergencies calmly
- Professional and personal integrity
