Old Mutual is currently seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our team. The selected candidate will be involved in full-stack software engineering, integration, and scripting, with responsibilities including the development, documentation, and deployment of solutions. A thorough understanding of the software engineering lifecycle is essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Utilize practical knowledge in a wide range of software engineering productivity tools and frameworks, with a focus on open source options. -Demonstrate proficiency in automatic code generators, the latest stable mobile and web programming frameworks, and data integration automation tools. -Familiarity with software test and deployment automation tools, as well as software infrastructure environments, particularly in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS certification is an added advantage. -Practical scripting experience, preferably in Shell and Python. -Additional advantage for practical knowledge in software engineering, such as OCPJP (Oracle Certified Professional, Java Programmer). -Practical knowledge of data engineering and big data technology systems.
