The Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing the company’s financial operations. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the software services industry and a strong understanding of software revenue recognition principles.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate reports on financial status by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Revenue Recognition:
Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue and other applicable accounting standards.
Monitor and analyze revenue-related transactions and contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
Tax Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate records for tax reporting purposes.
Financial Systems and Processes:
Utilize accounting software and other tools to manage financial data efficiently.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, such as Sales &Marketing, and Operations, to support financial initiatives and provide financial insights.
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the software services industry.
Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles .
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Pastel etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling.
Knowledge of international accounting standards and regulations.
Strong project management skills.
