UN Women Africa Launches Call for Applications for Online Training for Women Entrepreneurs
UN Women Africa has announced a call for applications from firms to develop and deliver online training programs for women-owned/led businesses in implementing countries. The aim of the initiative is to help women entrepreneurs pivot to new sectors and strengthen their capacity to access public procurement, in light of the post-COVID-19 economy. UN Women seeks a partner to create customized training modules and resources based on the needs and existing gaps of the women targeted.
Funding Information
The budget range for this proposal should not exceed USD 49,000.
Training Outline and Content
The partner selected will be expected to prepare and submit course outlines, contents, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and delivery schedules for online training programs on various topics, including procurement training, support for post-COVID-19 recovery, and digital skills training. These modules will be customized to meet the needs and requirements of women entrepreneurs.
Training Delivery
The selected partner will deliver online training programs in batches and per country. The initiative targets 200 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, 100 women entrepreneurs in Senegal, and 100 women entrepreneurs in Mali and all other African Countries, with training programs to be conducted separately per country.

Post-Training Stage
Following the training sessions, the partner will submit a report on the delivery of training programs, conduct pre and post-training evaluations, deliver certificates of training to the trained women, and submit output-based progress reports for each training program. The final report will include a list of trainees with full contact details and profile photographs (if available) of individual participants.
Requirements
The ideal partner for UN Women Africa will have the following technical/functional competencies:
- At least five years of experience in providing or conducting training and developing training.
- Proven experience in supporting women in areas such as ICTs, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, business management, marketing, and online training.
- A multidisciplinary team dedicated to the project, including an expert in women’s entrepreneurship and an expert in digital training and business development.
- Experience in developing countries, particularly in Africa.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Experience in the implementation of similar activities.
- Proven capacity to develop practical training guidelines and programs, experience in documentation, reporting, and evaluation of training programs.
- Proven experience in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
