Africare is an International non-governmental organization working in Zimbabwe to reduce poverty among vulnerable communities through interventions in Agriculture & Food Security Enterprise Development; Health, HIV & AIDS Nutrition; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene and Women’s Empowerment.

Scope of the assignment

Africare is looking to engage a Consultant for documentation of its WASH in Schools (WinS) projects in Hurungwe and Zvimba Districts focusing on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene as well as COVID-19 response. Working closely with Africare Communication’s staff, the consultant will produce a 10-minute high-definition video documentary. The documentary will capture significant change stories, lessons learnt, best practices, evidence of impact from the voices of government stakeholders, community representatives, and rural district councils. 

Objectives of the Consultancy

The overall objective of this consultancy is to produce a high-definition video documentary and high-resolution photographs that can be used in various communication platforms. This will involve travelling to the two districts for documentation.

Deliverables

The Consultant shall be responsible for script writing, planning and editing of video and photographs (minimum 100 photographs) which will be fully captioned with names of people, locations and all relevant material; A final edited 10-minute video documentary focusing on WASH COVID-19 response with all relevant subtitles.

Duration of Assignment

Ten working days.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate: A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of Documentary and Videography; Extensive experience in producing development work documentaries for international organisations with the aim of reaching both local and international audiences; Excellent technical capacities, access to high quality filming, light, sound and editing equipment to ensure smooth and high-quality production; Work references, contact details( email addresses of referees- for whom they have produced similar work; At least 3 links to work samples demonstrating most relevant previous productions; Sample work previously done for other clients.
