JOB DESCRIPTION

Calling on all General Assistants available for a contract position from 9 January 2023 for no longer than 3 months. You will be required to assist with cutting up a Shipping vessel, cleaning, assisting with carry and lifting, general housekeeping duties, you would therefore need to be medically and physically fit. Training will be provided in Epping for the first week. Thereafter successful candidates will be based in Simons Town.

Successful applicants will be given free shared accommodation in Simons Town for the duration of the project. You will also receive a food allowance in order to purchase or cook your own meals. You will also receive a sleep out allowance as well as a separation allowance.

Fortnightly wages :

• R2226.28 per fortnight PLUS
• OVERTIME
• Attractive allowances

Working hours:

• 07:00 am - 17:00 pm Mondays - Fridays
• 07:00 am - 13:00 on Saturdays

Transport will be provided back to Epping on Saturdays for those wanting to go home for weekend, but must be return to Epping by Monday mornings at 06h30.

Position Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Must be physically fit
• Must have sober Habits
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Ability to function efficiently in pressurized work situations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medicalwhich includes a mandatory drug test. Successful candidates will have background checks such as criminal record and references conducted for suitability.
