Requirements:
- Grade 12
- CCTV training certificate
- At least 3 years’ experience in a security environment
- Good understanding of university policies
- Advanced computer literacy
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration certificate
- Fluency in English and other official language relevant to the university
- Surveillance or monitoring room operator experience
Skills:
- Proficient in using MS Office
- Good observational skills
- Excellent communication
- The ability to deal calmly with emergency situations
- Effective general management and administration skills in addition to above
Competencies:
- The ability to carefully analyse information and use logic to address issues and problems at
work.
- The ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
- Knowledge and awareness of issues, physical qualities, and behaviour patterns within the
environment.
- Familiarity to policies, standard operating procedures and equipment.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Operate and monitor CCTV surveillance system.
- Prepare and present, evidential records and witness statement in a disciplinary hearing or
court of law.
- Ensure all logs, reports and records are produced accurately and promptly.
- Capture, process, log and help provide data (evidence).
- Gather and analysis CCTV data.
- Conduct preliminary investigation through surveillance system.
- Receiving of complains/interviewing complaints.
- Monitor fire alarms, cameras activated alarms and carry out required action.
- Identity and report faults and malfunctioning of the system.
- Ensure that only authorised people enters the CCTV room.
