About OPHID

The Organization for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID) PVO 31/16 develops and implements innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services in Zimbabwe, by providing enhanced access for communities to comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment. OPHID, works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions. OPHID is looking for suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following post:

Position Summary

The Research Assistant will provide overall support to the implementation of Phase 1 Zvatinoda project field activities while maintaining a close liaison with the Project Coordinator together with the Principal Investigator (PI). The position is responsible for data collection and entry for the Phase 1 Zvatinoda Project which aims at increasing the demand and uptake of health services among young people aged 18-24 in Chitungwiza district in line with study protocols and standard operating procedures.

Main responsibilities

Support the implementation Zvatinoda project activities for in Chitungwiza District; Assist the Project coordinator in data collection in line with study protocols and standard operating procedures; Provide timely and accurate data entry for the Zvatinoda project; Transcription/translation of qualitative data; Minute taking of the study workshops; Support the to implement routine EPMS/EHR/electronic record audits and ensure electronic records are always up to date; Support the Project coordinator for Zvatinoda collection data storage in the field.

Requirements

Possess a social science degree from a reputable university (Sociology, Social Work, Health Promotion, Operational Research, and any other research related degree); Fluent Shona speaker; Possess a valid GCP certificate; Good data collection and entry skills; At least 3 years’ experience in conducting health related sexual and reproductive health qualitative research/ assessments /deep dives; Research experience working with young people aged 18-24 in the urban and peri urban context is an asset.
