IIE MSA, formerly known as Monash South Africa, was founded in 2001 by Monash University. Since April 2019 we are part of The Independent Institution of Education (The IIE), a leader in the higher education sphere. The IIE is internationally recognised by the British Accreditation Council. IIE MSA, located on a 100-hectare campus in Ruimsig, Johannesburg, in the province of Gauteng. In addition to domestic (South African) students, IIE MSA is home to a diverse of cultures of students from 50 African countries.

The IIE MSA, Ruimsig campus in Roodepoort is looking to expand its database of supervisors for the various research modules that run on its post-graduate qualifications, including:

  1. Contemporary Management
  2. International Business Management
  3. Financial Management
  4. Economics
  5. Marketing Management

Key Performance Areas

  • Supervise students from the proposal stage through to submission of the final mini dissertation / innovation project.
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the research and supervisory functions.
  • Provide guidance to students on all aspects of the research journey.
  • Guide the student on the planning and structure of the research report in accordance with IIE guidelines (policy and process).
  • Participation in the required supervisor training and workshops offered.
  • Assist with the implementation of changes resulting from all review processes.
  • Ensure successful submission and completion within the given timelines.
  • Work closely with other staff members in the broader Research and Postgraduate Studies Unit.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Internet, and Email)

 Minimum Education Requirements: 

  • Ideally a relevant doctoral degree, but a relevant masters will be considered based upon supervision experience.

Minimum Experience Required: 

  • Basic supervision experience (Successful Masters supervision track record).
  • A track record of previous successful supervision should be submitted along with the application.
  • At least 3 years’ work experience.
  • Academic writing record (i.e., articles, books etc.). 
  • Understanding of academic publishing.
