Social Media Executive
REPORTING TO: Director of Retail and Marketing Retail Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Social Media Executive will be a creative and highly motivated individual, with passion and experience in attracting new fans, turning fans into customers, and nurturing customers into brand advocates. This passion will be demonstrated by a daily engagement in communicating the brand in a positive and innovative way.
The Social Media Executive will be able to work on brand development, identify target customers, set clear objectives for short and long term, implement a solid strategy for content, promotion, influences, engagement, conversion and analyse ROI.
The right candidate will have:
• a solid understanding of the use of a range of social media platforms, particularly in relation to advertising/branding and customers
• strong editing and writing skills suitable for each platform, from knowing how to write a successful post to using effective storytelling techniques
• knowledge and understanding of algorithms and search engine optimisation
• creative skills for contributing with new and innovative ideas
• strong verbal communication skills for articulating ideas to colleagues and clients
• organisational skills, with the capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects
• the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• data analysis skills and statistical prowess to draw actionable insights
• online community management and customer service skills to strike the balance between publicity and stimulating direct discussion with potential and actual customers
• an eye for detail and the ability to work accurately and quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
FOLLOWER COMMENT MANAGEMENT:
• All Comments to be liked
• All comments to be immediately responded to and where applicable for conversation to start
• All communicative language to be in that of the guidelines of the brand
• Track mentions of the company on social media and web overall
POSTS:
• Ensure the usage of visually arresting photography, imagery and videography that demonstrates the brand.
STORIES:
• Stories must be a large part of our Social Media Presence
• A perfect outlet for UGC
• Requirement for content, which can be generated by Instore imagery, including behind the scenes like gift wrapping, photo shoots, the creative process, cleaning profiling people that work in the shops and studios
• Demonstrate the Essence of the brand: To ensure the Language of the family, our mission, and our vision are at the forefront of all our communication: To tell positive and engaging stories through creativity, craftsmanship, service and luxury of the importance of Animals and Africa so people are inspired to support and love the creatures, people and wildernesses of our home continent.
CREATIVE AND CONTENT:
• Be a part of the creative team assisting and, where directed, taking the lead on creative for producing: Emails on MailChimp, Videos for Instore, Artwork for print, Vectors for Social Layers, Animations, GIFS
COPY:
• To write and communicate in the language of the brand
• To follow this language through when communicating directly with followers who have requested information across our platforms
PHOTOGRAPHY:
• Photo shoots - assistance and direction on model and product photo shoots
• Campaign and events shoots
• Generating UGC by photographing our products on others
• Product photography for Social Media content purposes
• Liaising with external photographers for product and model shots
• Instore photography of displays for display Album and liaising with Retail Operations Manager to ensure they are printed and placed in the Display Album
• Put together briefs for photoshoots and campaigns.
PRESS RELATIONS:
• Generation of Press Releases for all New Product Launches
• Management of Press Database
ADVERTISING:
• Propose an Advertising and Boosting program with objective and budget clearly outlined
• Measure and the ROI
REPORTS:
• Generate monthly reports for all platforms
• Set against Target KPI’s
• Commentary on trends in Social Media across the board and our industry
• Monthly reports given to E-commerce Manager who will present them at Monthly Management Meeting
CONTENT ASSET MANAGEMENT:
• All photography assets to be stored on cloud and hard drive - to be updated monthly. To be categorized and labelled according to instructions from Director
• All video assets to be stored on the cloud and Hard drive - to be updated monthly. To be categorized and labelled according to instructions from Director
POST GENERATION CALENDAR AND APPROVAL:
• Posts to be show in blocks of four weeks for approval and as dictated by the Marketing Calendar
COMPETITIONS:
• Regular competitions to be held for best UGC
INFLUENCERS:
• Appropriate influencers to be identified
• An influencer program with guidelines and rules of endgame to be presented to Director of Retail and Marketing
• Once approved to be implemented
POST REQUIREMENTS:
• 7 posts a week
• 7 stories a week
• 7 posts a week
• One related article
• Pinterest TBD
• YouTube TBD
• LinkedIn TBD
• Any other platforms
• All posts to be approved by the Director
ACHIEVE SET TARGETS FOR:
• Followers
• Engagement: Likes, replies, retweets, shares, comments
• Reach of social media posts
• Mailing List signups
• Increase on website traffic
• Increase on mentions in the press
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Strategic Planning
• Accurate daily execution of required tactics
• Brand community management
• Creating and optimizing content and technology
• Excellent writing skills

• Analytical skills
• Leadership and communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent Photoshop
• Very creative
• Photography
• Able to create GIF
• Able to create animations
• Excellent with Mailchimp
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience with HNWI and Luxury markets is preferential
• Experience with social media posting and planning platform tools, hoot suite etc
• Experience and knowledge of marketing principles.
• Marketing degree is welcomed but no required with relevant experience.
REQUIRMENT:
• To create a comprehensive social media strategy to present in week 5 of employment
• Always be prepared to be customer facing
