A local NGO is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, passionate, and hardworking individuals to apply for the above-mentioned position. The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed term contract of 12 months. Continuity of employment will be based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.


Job description

Reporting to the Programmes Manager, the Resilience Building Officer will be responsible for the following, among other duties: Planning, implementing and monitoring of Resilience Building activities for Household Economic Strengthening (HES) according to the organisation’s strategic plan and project requirements; Ensuring that participants needing resilience building interventions are identified and adequately targeted; Organise and participate in monthly, quarterly and annual program reflections and evaluations of the resilience building interventions; Providing guidance to the community volunteers on the execution of the resilience building activities; Develop timely high-quality reports and project documents in line with the donor and the organisation’s standard operating procedures; Make financial disbursements and acquittals for specific project costs and assist in the maintenance of financial and project records in accordance with the set accounting rules, regulations and policies and ensure compliance


Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate should have: At least a Bachelors’ degree in social sciences or Business Management or related disciplines; A Minimum of 3 years’ experience in resilience building or household economic strengthening programming in an NGO with knowledge and understanding of financial and budgetary planning and control, rules and regulations; Demonstrated experience and ability to produce high quality reports; Experience working with stakeholders that include government ministries, donor representatives and NGO; The ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision and meet deadlines; The ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams; A clean class 4 driver’s licence; Proficiency in Microsoft Office operations and packages.
