Psychosocial Support Officer: World Education Inc./ Bantwana (WEI/B) Deadline: 29 May 2020 (COB) Location: Hurungwe World Education Inc./ Bantwana (WEI/B) is an international non-governmental organization with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful interventions for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and youth in Zimbabwe with community-based models of service provision in health, education, child protection and economic strengthening. Having been in operation in the country since 2008, WEI/B leverages its deep knowledge of and extensive experience with Zimbabwe’s OVC context and operational landscape to address the long-term needs of vulnerable children and their families. To that end World Education Inc. /Bantwana is recruiting to fill the following position: Position Summary The Psychosocial Support Officer (PSSO) will be responsible for identifying and comprehensively addressing the emotional, social, mental and spiritual needs of child survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and Harmful Practices (HPs) within the National Case Management System (NCMS) framework. Working under the day-to-day guidance of the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) and supervision of the WEI/B Coordinator, the PSSO will be under the performance management of the National Child Protection Specialist and shall have the following responsibilities

Duties And Responsibilities


Major Responsibilities Conducting direct PSS service provision to cases of SGBV and HP referred to the district; Conducting home visits and preliminary assessments for children’s cases; Working with families of survivors of SGBV and HP to provide holistic support; Provide referrals for further psychosocial support and other services when required; Participate in feedback meetings and workshops with DSWO and CMO; Use available case entry points to access survivors of SGBV and HP for the provision of PSS; Develop PSS reports monthly and quarterly reports; Maintain PSS notes for each session conducted; Support documentation and evidence-building for case management; Assist in the support and supervision of Community Childcare Workers (CCWs).

Qualifications And Experience

Applicants are encouraged to meet the following criteria 1 st Degree in Social Work or any other Social Sciences Degree; Certification in PSS and/or counselling; Computer literacy; Report writing and Analytical skills; Good communication skills; Good networking skills; Ability to work in a team
