Position summary
The position is responsible for supporting the Project Logistics and Supply Manager organizing and supervising the operational supply chain activities according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the optimal running of the project, working closely with all project team members and mission supply colleagues
Position responsibilities
Plans the operational and routine activities in the project with team members following best practice, standard operating procedures, MSF protocols and legal requirements; Manages supplier contracts in liaison with Logistics & Supply Manager and the Project Coordinator; Monitoring and supervision of the implementation of warehouse and stock management activities; Following up of all stocks, ensuring compliance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures; Timeous and periodic reporting of all supply activities to the Logistics & Supply Manager; Timeous encoding and validation of local, regional and international orders; Proposing review of the management of the supply chain practices in the project; Technically supporting project teams with all supply chain related issues; Contacting market assessment biannually and periodically updating of suppliers list; Responsible for the supply database and appropriate filing and archiving of supply documentation; Any other supply chain / logistics related responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Procurement / Logistics / Supply Chain Management; CIPS Diploma or progress towards same or related professional qualification is an added advantage; Two years minimum working experience in Logistics / Supply Management in an NGO environment; Good negotiation, communication, teamwork, interpersonal & management skills; Motivation to work in an international inter-cultural context & humanitarian team spirit; High flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Clear knowledge & experience of all legislative instruments and procedures of medical supplies; Experience using Unifield or experience of any ERP and Microsoft office packages
