Position summary


The position is responsible for supporting the Project Coordinator strategizing, planning, coordinating and monitoring all logistics and supply related activities in the project and providing support to medical activities, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project in collaboration with the Project Coordinator, mirrored by the Regional Logistics and Supply Support teams.


Position responsibilities

Responsible for designing and implementing logistics and supply strategies for all technical job families to meet the operational needs, ensuring compliance to MSF standards, protocols and procedures; Participate actively in the definition and update of annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly project planning and budgets and the emergency preparation plan as a technical resource person; Supporting Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) activities in Mbare and Epworth project as per project needs; Conducting routine and emergency assessments in collaboration with project medical teams to identify needs and making recommendations for response programmes; Responsible for implementing and monitoring the technical aspects of the validated risk reduction policy regarding transport, communication, and protection of MSF properties; Responsible for ensuring the proper use and maintenance of ICT (computers, radios, phones, software, backups, etc) and communication tools as well as the communication means in the project; Works with the Project Medical Responsible in following up supply budget and plans that includes an estimate of future costs related to expected supply activities; Responsible for the definition of the Project’s annual procurement strategy adapted to the context and market dynamics; Ensures a specific Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for order processing is in place according to the needs, and proactively foster training for the staff and sensitization of the other departments to the lead-time commitments and constraints that impact on-time delivery; Responsible for the leadership, management, coaching and supervision of Logistics and Supply team members


Qualifications


Essential Logistics / Technical degree or Advanced Technical Diploma with extensive experience; Supply Chain Management (Logistics / Procurement) professional qualification is an added advantage; Membership of a reputable Logistics Management institution is an asset; Essential working experience of at least two years in logistics at managerial level; Experience working in the medical humanitarian field, with international NGO experience in an inter-cultural context; Mature, collaborative leader with excellent organizational skills, capable of establishing priorities and follow-up plans; Progressive management and leadership experience including budget management; Ability to autonomously lead team with strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills; advanced ICT skills, Microsoft office compulsory.
