Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme (DOMCCP) is a Community based organisation founded by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mutare. The organisation is currently implementing community development projects in Manicaland Province.

Position summary

The organization seeks to recruit an outstanding individual with a high level of professional ethics and integrity. Reporting to the M&E office, the Programme Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing technically sound program work plans and activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the program, effective implementation of program activities in collaboration with partners and stakeholders;
  • Ensure that interventions achieve project outputs and outcomes and are delivered on time; conduct frequent field visits to monitor state of the project;
  • Identify and address implementation challenges;
  • Establish positive relationship with partners and stakeholders through effective communication and liaison;
  • With guidance from the M&E officer participate in the design and implementation of assessments and program reviews;
  • Compile high quality activity and project reports and ensure they are submitted on time;
  • Document stories of change to demonstrate impact of interventions;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Safeguarding and Accountability structures;
  • Support development of project budgets and budget modifications, monitor program expenditure to ensure activities are implemented within budget;
  • Ensure that requests for program funds are in line with budgetary provisions to avoid ineligible and over expenditures;
  • Liquidate advances on time and ensure they are supported by authentic documents;
  • Monitor project financial burn rate and ensure timely utilization of program funds, represent DOMCCP and the program in meetings; workshops and seminars with partners and stakeholders;
  • Participate in the writing of project proposals and other resource mobilization activities;
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in development studies or any other social sciences.
  • Higher qualifications will be an added advantage;
  • Five years experience implementing community based programs;
  • Demonstrable experience working with government stakeholders;
  • Implementing partners and faith based organizations and other stakeholders;
  • Experience mobilizing and working with communities at grassroots level;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; use of computer packages including MS Word; Excel,
  • Clean class 4 driving license older than 3 years and ability to drive manual vehicles is a must (driving test will be done).
