Reporting to the Project Manager and Program Area Manager, the SRHR Program Facilitator takes a leading role in the implementation of the SIDA SRHR project in the target district.

Accountabilities:

  • Leads the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the SIDA SRHR project.
  • Identifies and trains community-based mentors and CCWs on gender and protection using the Champions of Change (CoC) model.
  • Registers households for the project and tracks their participation in the CoC clubs and family clubs.
  • Coordinates with other NGO partners for joint targeting, inclusive delivery of SGBV and SRHR information and layered services to adolescents and parents, as well as to provide referrals for SRHR services through the case management system.
  • Conducts regular monitoring of mentors and CCW activities, providing technical support to the community-based cadres.
  • Facilitates community dialogues to address harmful social and cultural norms as well as community level trainings.
  • Liaises with and supports community volunteers, including Case Care Workers to ensure SGBV survivors access time sensitive response services, in line with existing protocols and standards.


Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming

  • Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Child Protection Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
  • Compiles and safely keeps the project’s district database.

Coordination and networking

  • Participate in, develop and strengthen collaborative relationships at district levels in child rights to enhance Plan’s program performance
  • Support and participate in district children and youth related partnership activities, alliances and networks

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Support collection and analysis of project data
  • Assist MERC to update and maintain project database

Other key deliverables include

  • Maintaining good inter-team communications, engender good team dynamics;
  • Adherence to Plan policies.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

  • A degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at a similar level in gender, child rights and/or adolescent programming
  • Understanding of social norms and their influence on behaviour, attitudes and practices
  • Demonstrated capacity in monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge of programming issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
  • A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s licence
  • Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike
