Organizational background

Partners for Integrated Growth and Development (pigad) is a duly registered Zimbabwean Development Trust (0000997/2014). The organization was established in 2014 to empower communities through relief, rehabilitation and developmental programmes in both urban and rural communities.

pigad is planning to implement an agribusiness development intervention in Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central and Manicaland Provinces. The programme will be facilitated by Help from Germany, supported and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

pigad is seeking to recruit a procurement officer to ensure smooth and timeous procurement of project materials and inputs in the most efficient manner.

The major responsibilities

Responsible for timely procurement of project materials and inputs; General support on procurement related activities during project planning and execution; Ensure adherence to the pigad and donor procurement manual and procedures; Support the Project Coordinator on the procurement planning; Responsible for setting up and maintaining a Supplier List and contact database; Attend project team meetings and address arising procurement needs.

Support the development and improvement of procurement related templates and documentation; Responsible for Tender and RFQ full procedure (preparation, contracting, execution, submission, verification & filing); Support the Project Assistant in maintaining and updating the pigad asset register; Support the Finance and Admin on Monthly Financial Reporting; Study, comprehend, provide feedback and recommendations for improvement on the pigad and donor procurement procedures; Develop and maintain the most efficient system for procurement and related activities.

Professional knowledge and experience

A University degree or Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or any other related studies from a reputable institution. At least 2 years working experience. High level of integrity, honesty, commitment, and professionalism; Ability to multitask. Computer skills, including proficiency in Email, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are essential; Meticulous record keeping, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good command of English (both written and oral); A clean class 4 driver’s license. Knowledge and understanding of the development sector (mainly agriculture and agribusiness) will be an added advantage.
