Thorburn Security Solutions are in search of seasoned Polygraph Assessor as part of added Solutions to our exisiting and new clients. The role will include both external and internal clients within the Tsebo Solutions Group. The main purpose of this role is to Increase new business sales volumes and maintain and develop new customers.

Duties & Responsibilities• Using a best practice standard format, interviews and conducts polygraph examinations of applicants identified for Polygrapgh testing;

• Interviews witnesses, suspects, investigators and others involved in criminal matters to determine issues in the case;

• Develops an interrogation format for each case and conducts polygraph examinations to determine if the subjects are truthful or deceptive;

• Analyzes and interprets the results of the interviews and examinations from the polygraph charts and prepares comprehensive written reports which summarize the findings of the examinations; performs routine maintenance and upkeep on the polygraph instruments and recording;

• Testifies in court as an expert witness on the polygraph examinations; maintains records from the interviews and examinations.

• Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions and divisions as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development

• Ensure highest possible customer service standards are maintained always

• Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills

• Comply with company policies and procedures

Skills and Competencies• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position within services sectors

• Knowledge of: Interview and interrogation methods, techniques and laws; polygraph principles, practices, and equipment; the physiology and

psychological principles involved in polygraph examinations; the basic mechanics and functions of polygraph instruments and the physiological

phenomena they record; court procedures and current rules of evidence.

• Ability to: operate a multichannel polygraph instrument; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; analyze the results of the examination and

make a determination that the examinee is truthful or deceptive.

• Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license and prepared to travel extensively

• Business and Selling Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Should ideally be able to demonstrate success and experience in dealing with large companies and achieving genuine sales growth

• Ideal background would be in business support services; experience of Security Solutions

• Communication skills: A polygraph examiner may need to testify in court, write reports, and work with other law enforcement individuals.

Critical thinking: Examiners must use critical thinking and their best judgment to perform their job well.

Detail-oriented: Individuals must pay strict attention to detail and nuance when examining polygraph tests.

Math and science skills: A solid understand of statistics and natural science helps polygraph examiners perform their required job duties.

Qualifications• Matric

• A certificate of completion of instruction provided by a polygraph school accredited by the American Polygraph Association.
