The Partnership for Social Accountability (PSA) Alliance is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer. The position is located in Johannesburg, Harare, or Lusaka, and the job will be available until the end of December 2024. The PSA Alliance is working on the project ‘Strengthening Social Accountability and Oversight in Health and Agriculture in Southern Africa’ with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The project aims to improve accountability and gender-responsiveness in public resource management, particularly in the areas of HIV/SRH services for adolescents and youth and agricultural services for smallholder farmers in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.


The MEL Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and reporting on project activities, in line with the project work-plan and log-frame. The role will coordinate and manage the evaluation, analysis, and data management for the project. The MEL Officer will also support the Consortium Project Manager in providing administrative and technical program support, engagement with external stakeholders, and managing relationships with Consortium members. The MEL Officer should have a degree in Social Science, Health, Development Studies, Human Rights, Governance, or other relevant humanities, as well as experience designing monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems in an international development context. Expertise in or understanding of health and/or agriculture sectors in Southern Africa is desirable.
