The Mechanic needs to have experience carrying out servicing repairs and attend to breakdowns of European commercial vehicles to a high standard and should work well as part of a team, contributing to team targets to maximise efficiency whilst taking care with quality workmanship in order to meet the objectives of the Business. 

Key Aspects of the Role are: 

•Plan daily, weekly and monthly workshop activities and get sign off from Management.

•Diligently complete pre trip inspections followed up by completing inspection sheets and job cards to ensure work completed is captured and recorded in logical manner to Facilitate Cost per Unit Review and Trend Analysis.

•Service and Repair all Trucks and Trailers 

•Liaise with Procurement for any arising jobs that require purchase of parts as required. 

•VID Preparation of all commercial Vehicles 

•Ensure housekeeping is of highest order. 

•Timely Report back on any additional work that may affect dispatch 

•Develop Best Practice in all service operations and deliver consistently. This also requires assistance in developing Standard Operating Procedures

•Deliver Tool Box Talks to Operators for any Technical Lessons Learnt and or issues that may arise on trucks and or Trailers 

•In conjunction with the rest of the Team, agree, monitor and achieve inter department Customer satisfaction, workshop gross margins, and KPI’s for the Technical department.

•Conduct any other duties as directed by Management 

Prerequisites 

•Class 1 / 2 Journey Man Qualification 

•Class 2 Drivers licence 

•European Trucks service and repair 

•Ability to perform complex diagnostic evaluations on Commercial Vehicles 

•Ability to Diagnoses pneumatic system defects and repairs or replaces pneumatic system motors, switches valves and interlock system components 

•Trailer service and repairs 

•Standard Heavy Goods Vehicle Tool Box 

•Excellent Verbal and written communication 

Advantages to have 

•Specific MAN Experience and SAF trailers experience 

•Class 2 Drivers Licence 

•Ability to use and interpret OBII Diagnosis Tools 

•Basic Auto Electrical Skills

•Basic Computer Kills 

•Basic Welding Skills 

The Business 

Toyin Trailers is a growing company with a Fleet of Ex European Trucks, Tanker Trailers and Bulk Trailers. The Bulk of the Fleet is MAN Trucks therefore the heavy emphasis on MAN and SAF trailers Experience, however any European Truck experience will suffice. As an organisation we tend to work as a team therefore at times the Mechanic may be involved in reviews that may not be specifically Technical but for the greater good of the Organisation. 

The Mechanic will be reporting directly to the Lead Mechanic however as a growing team and for specific projects may have report to other Functions as well.
