Apply for online study in 2022 and 2023
Professionals from qualified nations can apply for scholarships from the New Zealand (NZ) government to study abroad in New Zealand and acquire new skills.
We will provide a limited number of scholarships for online professional development in 2022 and 2023.
The Skills Consulting Group is in charge of administering these awards.

Africa
Applications for a limited number of courses will open at midday (NZ Standard Time) on Wednesday 14 September 2022.
Professionals from eligible African countries can apply for a scholarship to take a short professional training course in the following areas:

These short courses aim to share New Zealand’s expertise in governance and trade with professionals in developing countries. Courses are two to four weeks long.
Latin America and Caribbean
Applications for a limited number of courses will open at midday (NZ Standard Time) on Wednesday 14 September 2022.
Professionals from eligible Latin America and Caribbean countries can apply for a scholarship to take a short professional training course in the following areas:

From Wednesday 14 September, interested applicants can be considered for a scholarship.
Who is qualified?
For qualified participants from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean who are now in middle and senior management positions, these are intensive short courses.
Africa
To be eligible for one of these scholarships, you must be a citizen from South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius, Tanzania, Egypt or Ethiopia.
Caribbean and Latin America
You must be a citizen of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, or Paraguay to be eligible for a Latin American scholarship.
Further qualifications
For you to be qualified for a Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship, each of the following conditions must hold true:
I shall have spent the previous two years or more living in my country of citizenship as of the day my application is submitted.
The diplomatic personnel and their families are exempt:
An applicant for a Scholarship must be a member of the diplomatic corps or a dependent of a member of the diplomatic corps residing abroad.
I am not a citizen or permanent resident of any of the following countries:
New Zealand, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, any European Union country, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom or the United
With the following exceptions, applicants may be from: - Niue and Tokelau, notwithstanding the fact that they are citizens of New Zealand.
- Dual citizens from Timor-Leste and New Zealand who are Samoans.
When I begin the scholarship, I will be at least 18 years old.
I don't currently have a military position.
I haven't had a New Zealand Scholarship revoked in the past five years.
Moreover, you must realize and accept that:

Before accepting your scholarship, you will need to submit copies of the following documents if you are chosen for one:
certified copies of your passport's personal pages (or an alternative form of photo identification if you do not hold a passport).
Whenever possible, certified copies of your most recent IELTS, TOEFL, or comparable scores from an international English proficiency test taken within the previous 18 months.

Application for the Manaaki New Zealand Short-Term Training Scholarship - Africa
Use this form to apply for a scholarship to help you pay for online training if you are from an eligible African nation.
This form needs to be filled out in its entirety.
You must respond to all of our questions in order to complete the form.
This form could take up to two hours to finish, depending on how much information you provide in your responses.
No real-time saving is possible.
In the event that the internet is interrupted, we advise transferring your responses into a different text document.

Latin America and Caribbean Scholar Application

Only those who are eligible may begin an application after the country's application starting date. Please follow these instructions if you have already applied or started applying for a Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship through RealMe since 2016:
First, change your password.
For information on how to re-set your password if you previously applied for a Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship before 2018, click here (external link).
Check for the RealMe logo, as a hint.
The link to reset your password will be provided to you through email.
After clicking the link, follow the steps that appear on the screen.
Keep in mind to check your spam folder because sometimes automated mails are filtered there.
Please click on "Lost your password?" and follow the instructions if you have forgotten your password.
Step 2: Verify your qualification
Fill out the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships online application (external link).
Step 3: Submit your application fully and on time before the deadline.
During the opening and closing dates for your nation, log into your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship account at any time to utilize the online application system.

Verify your eligibility in Step 1
To determine your eligibility to apply, take the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships online eligibility test (external link).
You will receive an eligibility code if the Online Eligibility Test shows that you are qualified (number).
Step 2: Create an account for the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship.
If you are qualified, a "register" button will appear on the page; click it to begin the registration process for a Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Account.
Your email address will be required (this will become your username for logging on again later).
To ensure that this email address has not already been used, the system will do a check.
If the check is successful, you must provide the remaining information for your account and click "Register."
Your Eligibility Code, which you have either written down or sent to yourself, should be entered here.
Specify your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship account password in step three.
You'll receive an email asking you to create a password so you can finish the registration process. You will be sent to a screen where you must set your password when you click the link in the email. Keep in mind to check your spam folder because sometimes automated mails are filtered there.
Step 4: Finish and submit your application by the deadline.
Use the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship online application system whenever you like between the opening and closing dates for your nation by using your Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Account.
