JOB DESCRIPTION

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of President, Parliament and Local Authorities, and Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practice.

The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill the vacancy of Logistics and Loss Control Officers that have arisen in the institution.

REPORTS TO : Deputy Provincial Elections Officer

STATIONS : Provincial Offices – Masvingo, Harare, Mashonaland Central,

GRADE : 8

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Reconciling records of election equipment and materials in stock;
• Maintaining inventory of election equipment and materials;
• Carrying out equipment and materials routine checks for availability and functionality;
• Issuing out security and logistic plans;
• Warehousing and maintaining secure custody of election materials and equipment;
• Facilitating secure inbound and outbound material logistics;
• Conducting misconduct and security breach investigations;
• Designing and implementing effective loss control preventative measures and control systems;
• Implementing security standing orders.
• Providing any other support as may be required and expected by the Commission

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

• Higher National Diploma in Security Training / Purchasing and Supply/ Risk Management or State Security Training
• 3 years’ relevant experience.
