Our client is looking for a well-motivated and knowledgeable Loan Officer to join their Operations Team. Incumbent must have good communication skills, the ability to work within a team as well as disciplined. Relevant experience of one-two years in a Financial Services Firm is required plus a Relevant Degree/Qualification.


Duties Include:


Ensure a high level of customer service and convenience by efficient and flexible use of front-office resources.

Selecting, analysing and training clients.

To sell and cross-sell microfinance products in order to achieve a high level of customer retention and attraction of new customers

Manage relationships with existing clients and looking for new clients

Detailing/Explaining the loan products to new and existing clients.

Attending to customer inquiries at all times.

Ensuring customer visits on a weekly basis.

Providing timely customer feedback to management.

Enforcing and maintaining loan repayment collection.

Manage a loan portfolio of customers

Processing of loan applications to qualifying customers within the agreed turnaround time with particular and detailed attention to credit and other risks like fraudulent applications and money laundering

Ensure that client records are captured correctly in the system and are perfectly filed.

Actively contribute towards weekly targets in terms of sales and marketing, disbursements, collections and arrears management.

Provide regular feedback to management on competitor activity through analysis of competition in the microfinance industry

Punctually attend any gatherings and meetings as instructed by management for networking and business development purposes.

Attend to customer inquiries, queries, complaints and any duties assigned by your superior.

Advise clients about the risks, consequences, and benefits of alternative lending solutions

Develops loan applications by evaluating applicant information and documentation.

Consults with clients about their lending needs to help them achieve their financial goals, including the collection and analysis of information about the client’s financial situation.

Evaluates loan applications and documentation by informing the applicant of additional requirements.

Rejects loans by explaining deficiencies to applicants

Approves loans within Delegated Authority or forwarding applications to credit committee

Completes loan contracts by explaining provisions to the applicant, obtaining signatures and notarizations, and collecting fees.

Prepares and submits timely and accurate loan files.

Uses state of the art technology to manage loan pipeline and conduct credit and underwriting analysis.

Helps customers by answering questions and responding to requests.

Maintains customer confidence by keeping loan information confidential.
