Responsibilities
To develop innovations and industrial solutions such as bio-pesticides and crop
loss pest identification tools and models
Be able to supervise students up to post-graduate level
A teaching background is an added advantage
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
Applicants should have at least a PhD or
MSc in Entomology, Insect Ecology or related field supported with relevant
experience in Insect Ecology and possess the following attributes:
Post-Harvest and pre-harvest management and control of crop pests
Good understanding of host insect pest pathogens and interactions
A strong understanding of insect biology, ecology and management
Quantitative assessment of insect pest induced crop losses
Ability to deal with emerging and migratory insect pests
Ability to effectively exploit beneficial insects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to offer consultancy in the above
Ability to work within multi and inter-disciplinary teams
Strong application of modern technologies in Integrated Pest Management
