The ICT support consultant will help USAID Zimbabwe Resilience ANCHORS project to manage and organize all ICT systems and services at their project office in Harare. S/he assists the project office in designing, installing and providing on-going back up support for all ICT infrastructure based on defined standards and recommendation from ECODIT Home office. (ECODIT is the managing consulting firm for the Resilience ANCHORS project.) The position will be recruited as a framework agreement where call offs are done as determined by demand.

Description of the role

The incumbent performs the following activities within the finance and administration office: Provide support to install, maintain, repair and monitor ICT equipment in line with ECODIT/USAID standards; Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels; Ensures that existing ICT infrastructure is functional and carries out regular maintenance; Briefs, advises, and trains RA project staff (end-users) on the any new ICT systems as maybe needed; Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment; Ensuring regular data backup for the entire office; Backup all data and clean all computers on close out; Ensure all computers are protected from viruses by ensuring that all computers are installed with an acceptable antivirus; Produce simple, brief (5-7 pages) Problem-Solving Manual that outlines steps to addressing/solving common internet, network, and connectivity problems; Provides technical support within 24 hours or otherwise solves the problems.


Profile – Minimum required qualification & experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field; 3–4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.); Good command (spoken and written) of English, any additional language of interest tO the ICRC is an asset; Good command (spoken and written) of English. Knowledge of Portuguese language is an asset; 1 year of people-management experience is a strong asset; Very good ICT knowledge.
