Temporary Human Resources Officer

Location: Harare

The Temporary Human Resources Officer has the main responsibility to provide technical guidance and support towards Human Resources processes in accordance with Plan International Zimbabwe's policies and procedures and actively take part in various HR initiatives. Working with other HR and Finance colleagues, the incumbent will oversee and manage the payroll functions of Plan Zimbabwe staff.

Accountabilities:

  • Prompt and accurate preparation and processing of payroll for Plan International Staff.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date record of employees registered on Medical Aid Scheme, NSSA, process the monthly premiums and ensure that the expected service is delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Review policies and procedures and recommend changes as required.
  • Execute all the policies and procedures pertaining to payroll administration and processing as well as provide advice on exceptions to policies, regulations and rules.
  • Reconcile monthly payroll activities for all employees to ensure that there are no ghost employees and that all staff are compensated as per their contracts and that the salaries bill is within the payroll budget.
  • Recruitment of staff in line with the organisation's policies and procedures
  • Support the HR Manager on producing reports with key HR measures to be submitted to Regional Office on a quarterly basis.
  • Effective c oordination of country HR processes ensuring timely staff recruitments, job profiling, staff induction, staff transfers and separations, labour relations, performance management remuneration surveys, leave management etc in line with organisational policies, standards and contemporary HR practices.
  • Provide support in HR budget preparation and monitoring of related expenses.
  • Reviews medical insurance payment packages for authenticity and policy alignment prior to related remittances.

Knowledge:

  • A degree in Human Resource Management, Administration or Social Sciences
  • Good understanding and application of country labour laws
  • 3-5 years' experience in managing payroll
  • Good thematic knowledge in the field of human resources

  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS office and Payroll systems
