Human Resources Assistant (1) Vacancy (2 months)

Africa AHEAD (AA) is a national NGO which was founded in 1995 in order to address the needs of urban and rural communities through the Community Health Club (CHC) methodology. The objective of AA is to relieve sickness and poverty and promote good health by empowering communities in Zimbabwe. The organization implements a range of Community Health Club and Emergency programmes directly in-country, as well as providing a learning base for other countries wishing to start Community Health Club Program in the region.

AA’s vision is to empower women in particular so that, as leaders in a fully functional Community, they are able to effectively control all preventable diseases and substantially alleviate poverty in their areas and raise living standards for their family.

AA is looking to recruit a Human resources assistant to be based in Harare. He/she is expected to perform their duties according to standards of operation expected by AA, according to AA’s philosophy, principles and policies. In particular, the incumbent will maintain the highest level of procedural transparency for the organization and its donors.

The incumbent is expected to sign the Code of Conduct which describes the manner in which they should represent AA and behave in relation to other members of staff, project stakeholders and participants. The officer should also be familiar with AA policies that relate to their work (ignorance of AA’s policies and procedures will not be considered an excuse in incidences of malpractice).

The incumbent will work to a defined work plan with time-lines. A description of duties is set out below. However, other duties may be assigned, as appropriate, by the line-manager to enhance the smooth running of project in line with project and organizational goals.


Job Description

1). Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests

2). Maintain Digital and electronic records of employees

3). Process leave applications and update leave days

4). Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks and issuing employment contracts.

5). Assist with performance management procedures.

6). Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.

7). Coordinate training sessions and seminars.

 8). Perform orientations and update records of new staff.

9). Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.

10). Process payroll and resolve any payroll errors in Belina System

11). Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.

12). Filling and general administration duties

13). Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees 

14) Arrange for advertising or posting of job vacancies, and notify eligible workers of position availability.


15) Prepare identification cards, and perform other security-related duties.

16). Performs any other duties as assigned

 

Qualification and Experience

At least a Diploma in Human Resources

-At least 3 years’ experience in human resources management

-Experience working with Local or International NGO is an added advantage
