Adult Rape Clinic (ARC) is a Private Voluntary Organisation (61/18) which works to deliver medico-legal and counselling services to survivors of sexual violence and promotes awareness on prevention of sexual violence. ARC’s headquarters are in Harare and has satellite clinics in Kadoma, Gokwe and Masvingo.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced part-time Financial Advisor to provide support to the Finance and Administration Department of ARC, to ensure adequate implementation and management of financial resources in line with the organisation’s policies and donor requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Support with proposal development through budget formulation and analysis; Offer quality advice and information regarding financial management; Support and guide ARC’s staff in monitoring the budget, analyzing financial plan results and recommending changes; Performing quarterly Internal Audits/Compliance checks. These audits will inform external audit preparations and compliance, Update finance and administration policies, assets policy, internal control forms, call logs, internal control framework, formulate procurement policy and assist with setting up procurement committee, Attend departmental meetings and other meetings as assigned; Carrying out tasks consistent with the nature of the position as instructed by the Financial Administrator, Co-Directors and Board Treasurer; Review financial reports for accuracy, completeness and give assurance that these are free from error before these are presented to the Board, Assist with segregation of duties in the finance department

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting / Administration plus a professional qualification such as CA(Z) / ACCA.

Additional academic and professional qualification that maybe an added advantage for this job

Masters in Finance//Business Administration/Equivalent

Experience required

5 years relevant/proven experience in a managerial position or similar post; Strong knowledge and experience of accounting software packages; Working with Non Governmental Organisations especially in the Sexual Gender Based Violence service provision sector; Proven experience in implementing financial controls and internal audits.

Technical skills and Competencies

High level of personal integrity; Highly organized and detail-oriented; Strong analytical and math skills; Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements ; Strong work ethics; Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organisation; Computer literate including effective writing skills of MS Word, Excel and email ; Ability to adapt and learn new software.
