Finance Intern


SNV is a not-for-profit international development organization with long-term, local presence in more than 30 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Job Description


SNV is seeking a motivated accounting intern who is ready to apply knowledge of financial terms and principles to an authentic real-world experience. The Finance Intern will be under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager and will assist with a wide range of duties, including reviewing date for accuracy and completeness, filing supporting documentation, data capturing and any other duties assigned by the Finance Team Leadership. The detailed duties are as follows:

  • Perform month-end creditors reconciliation systems, fixed asset reconciliations and debtors reconciliations
  • Receive, review, log and route incoming communication and payment requests/invoices.
  • Review supporting documentation such as expense acquittals for accuracy and completeness before posting
  • Assists with provision of requested documentation during the Annual Statutory and Project Audits
  • Assists in carrying out regular fixed assets verification and maintenance of an up to date and accurate Fixed Asset Register
  • Filing supporting documentation
  • Assist with data entry
  • Assist with month-end financial reports
  • Assist in following up with outstanding receivables (eg staff receivables)
  • Assist in compiling the monthly fuel consumption checks
  • Assist in receiving deliveries
  • Any other duties assigned by the Country Finance Manager or Finance Officer.

Qualifications


  • Graduate with either a University Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting ( Bachelor Of Accountancy)
  • Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIS) is an added advantage
