Finance and Administration Officer: SCOPE Zimbabwe Deadline: 7 February 2020 (5pm) Contract: Fixed-term – March 2020 until 31st December 2020 with possible extension subject to incumbent’s performance and availability of funds.
Main purpose of the role Provide adequate support to SCOPE Zimbabwe’s team in financial management and ensure application of appropriate standards for financial accountability; Ensure supporting documentation for payments is complete and correct in accordance with SCOPE Zimbabwe’s financial and administration procedures; Prepare payments for authorisation by account signatories (including payroll). Ensure relevant statutory deductions are made, and transactions recorded accurately on Pastel; Handling finance and administration related queries; Produce and Interpret financial information/reports and make recommendations to the National Coordinator; Analysing financial reports for project staff and providing guidance; Induct and train staff to adopt SCOPE Zimbabwe’s financial and administration procedures; Make timely finance and administration decisions for the good running of the organisation The incumbent will need to be a competent Accountant and excellent communicator, organised and efficient, have great attention to detail and the flexibility to enjoy a demanding and varied role. The successful candidate should have: First degree or similar in accountancy/financial management (desirable) or other relevant discipline, e.g. business studies, office administration, project administration, project management; Excellent abilities in accounting and financial administration including management of cash flows, balance sheets, sizeable budgets (planning, monitoring and reporting); High levels of proficiency in Excel and experience of using accounting packages; Knowledge of project management methodologies in a good governance context (including logical framework, project cycle management, etc.) and how to integrate good financial management into good project management; Excellent levels of spoken and written English; Experience of organising a busy workload and working in a fast-changing environment; Experience of procurement processes; Knowledge of child safeguarding and child protection policies in Zimbabwe.
