Position Summary

Reporting to the National Director, the Finance and Administration Manager will implement and ensure proper financial Accounting, reporting, budgeting and administration systems for the organization are in place In line with the organisation ethics, policies and procedures. The incumbent of the post will have much freedom in planning the day-to-day execution of all duties in budget allocations and reviews and approving cost lines. Performs strategic planning and scheduling financial activities, providing guidance to staff, Provides compliance advisory to the Senior Management Team. Makes recommendations for improvement of existing controls or development of new controls in local or regional operating environments.

Qualifications and experience

At least 5 years’ experience in a senior financial management role with at least 3 years in a similar position; The incumbent must possess Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Related Field, ACCA, CA, CIS. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in Management and Audit, sufficient to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job; Minimum of 5 years related work experience, including 3 years in management and 3 years working at the organisation level; Experience developing audit programs and managing audit processes is required; Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff; Some Internal or external audit internationally experience will be an advantage; Non-governmental organization (NGO) experience preferred.

Duties and responsibilities

Furthermore the successful incumbent will be expected to: Demonstrate excellent analytical and organisational skills; Be Proficient in spreadsheet software and be able to prepare all Financial, Management and Budget variance reports; Prepare Annual Budgets and Forecasts and advises the organization on financial matters; Administer and adjudicate tenders and Procurement procedures within thresholds set in the policies; Administer Donor Contracts to ensure compliance; Maintain Asset Register and Reviews general ledger accounts; Coordinate the external and internal audit processes and approve all expenditure within set budget lines; Recommend suitable bankers for the organization, Prepares Cash flows and advise on investments; Attend to all IT issues and attend some Board meetings by invitation; Carry out internal audit of Regional Offices quarterly; Administer agreements with service providers and tenants; Overseeing and training of staff training of administrative staff. Contributes to the organisation’s strategic planning and performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.
