Welthungerhilfe seeks to engage a Training Officer who will co- facilitate the training on financial literacy, business planning, farming as a business, village savings and lending schemes, and market linkages training: S/he will then lead the field demonstration training and the field rollout of the training sessions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the coordination of field related activities of the Financial Skills project; Support the Contribution to the project’s / program’s strategic development; Cooperate with relevant stakeholders: Support implementation of Financial Skills Training of Trainers Project activities within respective districts: Support the roll out of field training activities of the Financial Skills training project in the districts as following; Facilitate training on Financial literacy, Village Savings and Lending, Market Linkages, Farming as a Business and Business Management; Follow-up on the project’s implementation and learning activities within the jurisdiction area, facilitating effective learning in close cooperation with the research and learning team; Regularly monitor the execution of field related activities and results, provide feed-back to the Specialist; Trainer and Head of Project: Compile and document relevant information for collaborative activities and missions: Plan for, implement and document Field Training session meetings, workshops, seminars and other events related to the program’s / project’s field of activities; Support short-term consultants and experts of the project / program to fulfill their tasks during their assignment: Support the Contribution to the project’s / program’s strategic development; Provide technical advice on development of relevant training materials, support teams and counterparts on the matter; Keep management informed about topics and developments related to the project’s / program’s activities; Identify learning points and accurately document the learning outcomes and the processes that were involved in the form of case studies, most significant change stories and documentaries; Participate in identifying needs for external support and advice; Propose new initiatives / improvements, make policy and strategic recommendations; Monitor the project progress and provide feed-back to the Management, with the support of and in close cooperation with the monitoring Team; Support the planning of field related project / program activities and ensure knowledge transfer; Coordinate the training activities within the defined area; Formulate project action plans and synchronize between the planning and budgeting system; Develop Financial skills technical concepts, guidelines, manuals, and procedures, which are ready to be applied; Prepare inputs to project reports, research write ups and publications for all required reports; Cooperate with relevant stakeholders: Develop and maintain contacts with all relevant ward-based stakeholders; Cooperate with government institutions, non-government organizations, and the local community: Represent the project / program; Act in liaison and cooperate with other GAA / WHH projects / programs in the region; Collect and circulate relevant information, disseminate project experiences; Mobilize farmers, report all security relevant issues and information to the Security Officers and the Management.
Qualifications, skills and experience required
First Degree in Development Studies, Agriculture or related Degree; A minimum of 2 years’ experience training communities on Financial Skills, Farming as a Business, VS & LS, Market Linkages, Business Planning and Management; Fluent in Ndebele Proficiency in Tonga an added advantage; Willingness and Ability to ride a motorcycle.
