A community-based non-profit making organisation operating in one of the districts of Manicaland province to provide prevention, care and support services for at risk communities is seeking to fill the vacant position of Driver.

Position Summary

The Driver will be responsible for driving the project’s vehicle as required by programme and administration functions. He/she will also be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs to ensure that the vehicle is kept clean; Logs all trips, daily mileage, diesel consumption, oil changes, greasing etc; Other office duties such as photocopying, faxing, scanning, relieving at the reception, handling of in-coming/outgoing telephone calls, screening of visitors, etc may be assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 5 O level passes, including English; Minimum of Clean Class 4 driver’s license and valid Defensive Driver’s License; At least 5 years’ driving experience preferably in an NGO setup; Must respect and adhere to all safety and traffic rules; Understanding of written and spoken English is required; Basic Motor Vehicle Mechanic course is an added advantage; Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
