Location:Bulawayo, Chitungwiza, Beitbridge, Bulilima, Gwanda, Mangwe, Insiza, Matobo, Umzingwane.

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract   


Position Summary:


The Direct Service Delivery Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing HIV, TB, and TB/HIV prevention, care, treatment, and support services in health facilities. The DSD Nurse is seconded to a high volume MOHCC facility and reports to the sister in Charge with overall accountability being the OPHID District Manager within the district. 


Key Responsibilities:


•Work with facility staff to provide targeted HIV prevention services (index case testing, risk screening, HIV self-testing, partner testing, pre- and post-natal mother baby pair testing, maternal VL monitoring etc.) to achieve targets

•Record HIV prevention services correctly and completely in appropriate registers, checklists, and other source documents 

•Provide quality ART services and enrollment of PLHIV onto lifelong ART

•Provide quality ART monitoring and retention services, monitoring and retaining patients in lifelong ART care

•Work staff to implement facility activities for TB and TB/HIV management (TPT, GXP testing, TB algorithms etc.) to achieve targets 

•Provide quality cervical cancer screening and treatment services

•Work with the facility and community staff to implement facility activities for ASRH and DREAMS (PrEP, Gen_GBV etc.) to achieve targets 

•Work with facility and community staff to implement QI solutions and/or adoption of best practices on identified gaps 

•Submit timely, accurate and quality reports on all activities conducted within the health facility


Person Specification: 


•Diploma/Degree in Nursing AND registered as a Registered General Nurse with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe 

•Knowledge of National AIDS and TB guidelines and familiarity with MoHCC M&E tools for OI/ART management

•Training and experience in HIV counselling and testing for adults, adolescents, and children

•Completed course in Advanced HIV and AIDS Management is an added advantage

•Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and online collaboration technologies.
