Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services
(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

Gweru Campus: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (5 Posts)
Qualifications
First Degree in Sociology with at least 2.1 pass.
Master’s Degree in Sociology.
PhD in Sociology will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work, and should be able to teach 3 modules in any of the following areas;
Race, Class and Identities
Migration
Sociology of Law
Sociology of Work and Employment
African Social Theory
Sociology of Sport / Drugs and Society
Global Poverty and Development
Project Planning, Management and Monitoring and Evaluation
Sociology of Sexuality
Sociology of Violence
Sociology of the Family
Gender and Power
Quantitative Research Methods
Social Movements
Economy, Society and Governance
